María Inés Becker PHD

Research Director. Doctor in Cell Biology, University of Chile (1988). Has great experience in the immuno-biotechnological area, specifically in research and development of diagnostic reagent for human and animal health, using polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies. Between 1989 and 1997 she was Scientific Director and Head of the Laboratory of Immunology at Bios-Chile IGSA.

The current goal of the research of Dr. Becker is to investigate on new natural substances with immunomodulatory properties, useful as antitumor agents and for vaccine development, supported by scientific publications and patents. In 2006, Dr. Becker founded the Science and Technology for Development Foundation ( www.fucited.cl ). This non-profitable institution's purpose focuses on research, development, conservation and dissemination of science in the discipline of Biology. At present she is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, University of Chile

Chief Administrative Officer of Biosonda,Scientist Biochemist.University of Chile, Santiago. Postgraduate studies at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, School of Medicine University of California Los Angeles USA. Founder of Bios Chile IGSA,(the first Biotechnology Company in Chile).Founder of Biosonda S.A.He is an expert in allergy and immunology, immunochemistryand protein chemistry, especially in the area of monoclonal antibody.SA.

He has been President of the Chilean Society of Immunology, and founder of the Chilean Association of Biotechnology Companies (ASEMBIO). He was consultant of the contraceptive vaccine program of the OMS. He was Associate Professor at the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Faculty of Biological Sciences at Catholic University for 30 years. Presently he is part time associate professor of Immunology, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Biotechnology, the University of Chile.

Pablo E. De Ioannes PHD

Scientist, Research Associate. PhD in Biomedical Sciences at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York. Master in Biochemistry, Catholic University of Chile, Santiago, Chile. Mr. De Ioannes had large expertise in protein chemistry, protein-protein interaction and structural biology studies. Part of his training was obtained in his postdoctoral research in the Structural Biology Laboratory at NYU Medical Center, New York. Also. He has conducted basic and applied research on the structure and function of the Hemocyanin from the mollusk Concholepas concholepas.
