A robust, inexpensive alternative to KLH Blue Carrier Protein is a purified preparation of Concholepas concholepas hemocyanin (CCH). This large protein has most of the same immunogenic properties as the popular carrier protein, keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). Its significantly improved solubility offers greater flexibility in immunogen preparation by enabling a broader range of buffer and pH conditions for coupling peptides, proteins, and other haptens to classical crosslinkers such as glutaraldehyde, Sulfo-SMCC, and EDC.

IMJECT  MALEIMIDE-ACTIVATED BLUE CARRIER® PROTEIN is a specialized kit used for hapten-peptide conjugation to hemocyanin from Concholepas concholepas (CCH). It features superior solubility compared to KLH, highly efficient maleimide-to-thiol binding, and strong immunogenicity, thereby enhancing antibody production.

Specifications require that each lot be activated with more than 400 moles of sulfhydryl-reactive maleimide per mole of carrier, ensuring consistently high conjugation levels.

Pre-Activated Convenience: The protein arrives pre-activated with available maleimide groups, allowing you to conjugate sulfhydryl-containing (thiol) peptides rapidly without needing additional cross-linking reagents.

Complete the hapten-carrier conjugation reaction within 2 hours to yield sufficient immunogen for several injections and booster immunizations in host animals.

Blue Carrier Protein is ultrapure Concholepas concholepas hemocyanin (CCH) prepared from this molluscan hemolymph.

CCH has a higher molecular mass and structural complexity than BSA or ovalbumin (OVA) and elicits a stronger immune response.
